Molly Watson of the Community Foundation of the Brazos Valley was in the KEOS studios to tell us about the work they do for the benefit of non-profit organizations in the Brazos Valley and the Brazos Valley Gives day of giving event on Tuesday October 27th.
Since 2003 the Community Foundation of the Brazos Valley has been a partner for philanthropic giving in the 7-county region of the Brazos Valley. As a non-profit organization serving other non-profit organizations through their services to set up and manage permanent and quasi-endowment funding sources they assist individuals or companies that wish to leave a legacy of giving Focusing on sustainable and permanent sources of funding they assist in the distribution of income from 85 funds to non-profit organizations on behalf donors who established the funds. Over the past 16 years they have distributed more than $1,300,000 to Brazos Valley nonprofit organizations, scholarships and community grants.
Through the 2nd annual Brazos Valley Gives day of giving event on Tuesday, October 27th 136 local non-profit organizations in Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Madison, Roberson and Washington counties are asking for support through on-line and in-person giving. During the 18 hour virtual on-line event event that starts at 5:00 A.M. and ends at 11:00 P.M. participating organizations will receive donations online at https://www.brazosvalleygives.org. In person drop-off locations include The Bryan-College Station Eagle at 1729 Briarcrest Drive in Bryan from 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. and the Washington County Chamber of Commerce at 314 South Austin in Brenham from 8:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M on Tuesday October 27th. Early on-line giving is going on now through the day of the event.
