22nd Homelessness Marathon – “Bringing the voices of the homeless into America’s homes.”

The 22nd annual broadcast of the Homelessness Marathon will air on KEOS Community Radio on Wednesday, December 9th, from 7:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M.

The Homelessness Marathon presents the voices of homeless people in a
wide variety of circumstances across the country. Listeners to the live broadcast hear from squatters in abandoned houses they have “taken over,” a woman living in her car in the parking lot of a church, guests in a faith based emergency shelter and homeless people living illegally in a tent community.

They’ll also hear from experts, including Joey Lindstrom, field director at the National Low Income Housing Coalition, who will give an overview of the looming eviction emergency; and Dr. Courtney Pladsen, Director of clinical and quality improvement for the National Health Care for the Homeless Council, who will address the impact of COVID-19 on homeless people. And as a SPECIAL HOMELESSNESS MARATHON EXCLUSIVE, evidence will be presented that Dr. Robert Marbut, head of the United States inter-agency Task Force on Homelessness, faked the research on which he built his reputation.

In addition to the more than 20 radio stations carrying the broadcast around the country, the entire 22nd Homelessness Marathon will be available at https://stream.audioport.org:9000/special
