KEOS Receives Arts Council Grant for Lone Star Music Series

KEOS is proud to announce that the station has received an Annual Program and Marketing Grant from the Arts Council of Brazos Valley, which is funded through the City of College Station and City of Bryan’s hotel/motel tax revenues.

A long-time affiliate of the Arts Council (http://acbv.org), KEOS will use the money to help fund a concert featuring Texas singer-songwriter Sam Baker (http://sambakermusic.com) to kick-off the Lone Star Music Series at the Grand Stafford Theater (http://grandstaffordtheater.com) in downtown Bryan. The goal of the Lone Star Music Series is to educate listeners and community members through concerts and other related events–such as on-air interviews and workshops with artists–that focus on Texas’s rich musical tapestry. “We’re thrilled to welcome Sam Baker to downtown Bryan and the Grand Stafford Theater on March 27 for the first concert in KEOS’s Lone Star Music Series,” said KEOS Board of Directors’ President Krista May. “The funds we receive from this grant will help us to publicize the concert series to music lovers across the state. Throughout its history, KEOS has proudly supported Texas musicians and artists, and we look forward to organizing many great events in Bryan and College Station that will educate our community about Texas music. We’re especially thrilled that this series will premier during KEOS’s twentieth year as an all-volunteer community radio station.”

Check back here soon for details about the March 27 concert and the Lone Star Music Series, as well as other events during KEOS’s 20th-birthday year. The KEOS Board of Directors and Management Team are grateful to the Arts Council and the Cities of Bryan and College Station for their help in bringing the Lone Start Music Series to Bryan and College Station.
