Rudder High School Varsity Assistant Coach Kallie Donley Motivates & Inspires Students

Rudder High School Varsity Assistant Coach Kallie Donley knew at an early age that she wanted to play Volleyball and her goal took her all the way to Rutgers University where she played on the Women’s Volleyball team.  After graduating she returned to the Brazos Valley and has taught in the Navasota ISD and  Bryan ISD.  In Bryan she has taught fifth grade science and now serves as a Varsity Assistant Coach, English co-teacher and yearbook sponsor at Rudder High School.  Outside of school she coaches the 8th grade Brazos Valley Juniors Volleyball team.  A lifelong athlete Kallie counts her Mom Jacky Pence, who coincidentally is Varsity Head Coach at Rudder High School, as the most influential motivator in her life.  Leading by example she teaches her student athletes life lessons off the court as well as on.
Part of that involves service to the community and recent examples include providing help to North Bryan New Birth Baptist Church after frozen pipes burst and flooded the church, and improving the appearance of KEOS Community Radio by landscaping, tree trimming and painting during Spring Break.  Bryan ISD student athletes are leading by example, putting into practice what they have learned from their coach.

Rudder High School Sophomore Student Athlete Neely Rutledge is a native Bryanite and active with the Rudder Girls Varsity Volleyball team and FFA.  Her athletic pursuits started with Church League at Central Church in the third grade and continues today.  Despite the challenges and changes brought about by COVID-19 restrictions she’s remained active, training at home to maintain her conditioning.  She feels that being involved in athletics and FFA at Rudder have motivated her through expectations for high standards.  After graduation from high school she hopes to go out of state and be involved in NCAA Division I (D-1) Volleyball and eventually pursue a career in the medical field as a NICU Nurse or Physical Therapist.
