Rudder High School Head Football Coach and Athletic Coordinate Eric Ezar shared was in the KEOS studio to share with us his emphasis on leadership as he develops student athletes to be better men, better future husbands and better future fathers. Bringing a legacy of education that runs in his family to the athletic field his philosophy of student development involves being not only a coach, but also a mentor and role model. With the Essential 8 as a foundation his program stresses making good decisions and always striving for improvement. He talks about the Leadership Council, the Mom’s Football Clinic, choosing a Teacher of the Week and Player of the Week. He also explained the team slogan #sum2prove and how it was chosen. With a 2-0 season the Rudder Rangers are preparing for a homecoming match with the Nacogdoches Dragons and Coach Ezar feels that the team is stronger than ever and ready to make it 3-0 at the end of the game. Reflecting on his career as a coach he shares his most important accomplishments and what he hopes for in the future for his student athletes.
